After losing Joy Taylor to Fox Sports, 790 The Ticket was a left with a major hole to fill in mornings. The radio station conducted a couple of on-air auditions and talked to a few candidates and during the process, it became clear that Amber Wilson’s chemistry and on-air connection with Jonathan Zaslow and Brett Romberg was exactly what was needed.
Today, Zaslow confirmed on the air that Wilson has been signed by the radio station and will officially join the morning show starting Monday April 4th. Dan Le Batard and Jon “Stugotz” Weiner actually broke the news on the radio station yesterday.
Wilson is no stranger to sports media. Her background includes co-hosting a local sports television show “Sports Bang” on CBS-4 in South Florida with ESPN Radio and 790 The Ticket midday host Jon “Stugotz” Weiner of “The Dan Le Batard Show”. She’s also appeared frequently as a guest on the local sports radio circuit on The Ticket and 640 Sports, and served as a host on the show “Beer Money” on SNY from 2010-2011.
Jason Barrett is the President and Founder of Barrett Media since the company was created in September 2015. Prior to its arrival, JB served as a sports radio programmer, launching brands such as 95.7 The Game in San Francisco, and 101 ESPN in St. Louis. He also spent time programming SportsTalk 950 in Philadelphia, 590 The Fan KFNS in St. Louis, and ESPN 1340/1390 in Poughkeepsie, NY. Jason also worked on-air and behind the scenes in local radio at 101.5 WPDH, WTBQ 1110AM, and WPYX 106.5. He also spent two years on the national stage, producing radio shows for ESPN Radio in Bristol, CT. Among them included the Dan Patrick Show, and GameNight.
