97.1 The Fan in Columbus listens to their audience. So when they bombarded Jay Taylor, director of programming and operations at The Fan, with messages demanding more local content, he responded.
Starting on Monday, April 4, Tim Hall and former Ohio State and NFL running back Chris “Beanie” Wells will team up for the “Tim and Beanie Show”, weekdays from 10 a.m. to noon. The program will replace ESPN Radio’s Dan Le Batard show which will air in the market on Taylor’s second sports station ESPN 1460.
“This is a great opportunity for our loyal and craving audience to get more local sports talk,” Taylor said. “It also brings another exciting layer to our team on the highest-rated ESPN affiliate in the country.”
Hall and Wells previously partnered on “The Buckeye Show,” weekdays from 6p-8p.
Wells played for Ohio State from 2006-08 and finished fifth all-time in rushing with 3,382 yards. The Akron native was selected 31st overall in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals. He played four seasons in the NFL.
Hall, a Woodbridge, Va. native, has been at 97.1 since October 2012 after stops in Kansas City and Raleigh, N.C.
