A major shakeup has taken place at Detroit Sports 105.1. Program Director, and afternoon drive host Dave Shore has been let go. The decision was made this morning.
Shore, joined the radio station as PD in February 2015. He made a couple of moves to ramp up local programming on the radio station, but a series of changes in afternoon drive may have contributed to the radio station’s decision to move in a new direction. The website for the radio station no longer lists his afternoon show in the on-air section.
Detroit Sports 105.1 now finds itself searching for new leadership for the third time in less than three years. Jason Dixon was originally hired to build the radio station in the summer of 2013, but was let go in February 2015. He’s since reemerged as a programmer at SiriusXM. According to sources the station remains committed to operating the sports format.
No word yet on who will replace Shore as Program Director, and/or afternoon drive host. Sources say that Rob Pascoe will sit in this week on the afternoon show opposite former Piston Lindsey Hunter. Jake Chapman is expected to join in and make it a three man show next week.
