92.9 The Game Parts Ways with Mitch Evans

92.9 The Game in Atlanta has parted ways with late-night sports talk host Mitch Evans. Evans was one of three original on-air hosts still working at the station following its launch in October 2012. The two remaining hosts are Rick Kamla, and Carl Dukes.

Over the past few years, The Game has undergone a number of changes to its weekday lineup, but Evans hadn’t been considered as an option to fill any of the on-air vacancies. He’s instead been locked into weeknights from 11p-3a. He confirmed the news of his departure on Twitter.

mitchevansPrior to joining The Game, Evans worked for the Atlanta Thrashers Radio Network, 640/WGST-AM as sports director and pre and post-game host for the Atlanta Braves. He also spent six years hosting for 790 The Zone prior to the station folding.

92.9 The Game’s General Manager Rick Caffey didn’t elaborate much, but did tell the Atlanta Journal Constitution “we just made a change in evenings”. The station is currently seeking a replacement.
