A brand new sports radio station hit the Macon, Georgia airwaves this morning. “Middle Georgia’s ESPN” has launched on 93.1FM in Macon, 99.5FM in Warner Robbins, and 1150AM in Fort Valley. The station’s birth is a result of a lot of hard work, and planning between Bill Shanks, Chris Murray, and Claudell Price.
In addition to serving as part owner, Shanks will also broadcast a daily show on the radio station from 3 to 6pm. The station will also feature “Mike and Mike” in mornings, the first hour of Dan Le Batard’s show, and a local program titled “The Midday Sports Zone” from 11a-1p. That show will be hosted by Russ Brown and Telegraph sports editor Daniel Shirley.
To further serve local fans, the radio station will become an affiliate of the the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta Hawks. Plans to add even more play by play are in the works.
