103.7 The Buzz Adds David Medford and Eric Sullivan

103.7 The Buzz has announced that David Medford and Eric Sullivan have been added as hosts of a brand new midday show that will air Monday-Friday, 1p-4p. The new program will debut on Monday, August 29th.

“We are really excited to introduce our new afternoon team,” said Steve Jonsson, General Manager of The Buzz. “The Buzz provides our listeners with on-air talent that can deliver strong entertainment and sports programming. We were fortunate that Dave and Eric were available to create this highly entertaining new show.”

Dave’s on-air career began in 1994 partnering with Tommy Smith as the Magic 105 morning show co-host, known at that time as “Big Dave”. A fourth generation Arkansan, Medford was born in and grew up in Mena. He graduated from Hendrix College in 1982 with a degree in economics. Medford and Smith enjoyed their status for years as the #1 show in Arkansas and the highest performing morning show in a top 100 market.

Then, from 2000-2005, Dave was the afternoon drive talk show host at KARN where he opined on a broad range of topics. Since then, Dave has been a full time voice over talent. He’s lived in Atlanta, Pittsburgh, and Dallas, and is now back home in Arkansas. He’s a huge sports fan and lifelong Razorback fan.

Sullivan grew up in Wickes, AR, graduating from Mena High School and played basketball at Arkansas Tech University. Sullivan began his TV career in 1998 at KARK-TV shooting sports video for Steve Sullivan and David Bazzel. In 2000, Eric became the Weekend Sports Anchor at KTHV Channel 11. In 2003, Eric was named Sports Anchor at KFSM-TV in Fayetteville/Fort Smith. After five years covering the Razorbacks, Eric moved to Texas where he spent 10 years covering the Dallas Cowboys and Texas high school football, among many other sports. At that time, he also started the Eric Sully Radio Show on ESPN 92.1 FM. He will bring a vast background and skill set to the Buzz.

“We conducted an exhaustive, nationwide search to find the best possible hosts for what we think our listeners would love in the 1 o’clock time slot,” said Justin Acri, Program Director for 103.7 The Buzz. “After considering a number of highly qualified applicants, we decided that this extremely entertaining pair would be perfect for the job.”

The new show replaces Overtime, which aired from November 2012 to July 2016. It will be produced by veteran KABZ-FM producer, Joe Franklin. Having been with The Buzz since 2002, Franklin produced The Zone from 2004 to 2012, at which point he began producing both Overtime and DriveTime Sports. Franklin will also continue as producer for DriveTime Sports.
