WJOX has finalized its new lineup. Two weeks ago, the station moved its midday show “The Roundtable” to mornings, eliminating “The Opening Drive” with Tony Kurre, Jay Barker and Al Del Greco. That created an opening in middays.
Today, WJOX confirmed that Cole Cubelic, Aaron Suttles and Landrum Roberts will take over middays from 10a-2p. John SaBerre will also join the show.
Cubelic is a Birmingham-area native and former Auburn University offensive lineman and captain. He’s been part of ESPN’s college football coverage on the SEC network and a weekly guest on the Paul Finebaum Show. He had been hosting a morning program, “The Cube Show” on 730 The Ump, a station owned by Cumulus Media which also owns WJOX.
In addition, the radio station announced the hiring of Pat Smith as Assistant Program Director. The co-creator and former director of Paul Finebaum’s show had recently served as PD of 99.1 The Game prior to the station switching to the Alternative format in November 2017.
Jason Barrett is the President and Founder of Barrett Media since the company was created in September 2015. Prior to its arrival, JB served as a sports radio programmer, launching brands such as 95.7 The Game in San Francisco, and 101 ESPN in St. Louis.
