The 27 year relationship between Cox Media’s WDBO-AM and the Orlando Magic has come to an end. The team is moving its games to iHeartMedia’s WYGM, which originates on 740 AM, but also has a transmitter broadcast on 96.9 FM.
Magic play-by-play will be handled by Dennis Neumann. Richie Adubato will handle color commentary. Scott Anez, the longtime pre and postgame host for the Orlando Magic is likely not making the move with the team. He will remain with Cox’s ESPN 580 for afternoons. Brandon Kravitz will take over those broadcasts for the Magic and also serve as sideline reporter for home games.
Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins said in a press release, “iHeartMedia and FM 96.9 The Game will bring our product to our fans and stakeholders in a first-class manner. We thank ESPN 580 Orlando for 27 excellent years of serving as the radio home of the Magic.” iHeartMedia division president Linda Byrd added, “This is an exciting time to be a Magic fan and an exciting time for FM 96.9 The Game. Adding Orlando Magic games to our programming lineup truly solidifies our radio station’s position as Orlando’s Sports Leader.”
