The Cleveland Browns will have a Spanish language broadcast for the 2018 season. Murray Hill Broadcasting’s La Mega 87.7 will serve as the broadcast’s flagship station. Cleveland Cavaliers Spanish broadcaster Rafael Hernandez-Brito will be the play-by-play man. Octavio Sequera will handle color commentary.
Browns Executive Vice President and COO Dave Jenkins said “La Mega is a leader in Northeast OHIO, and we are excited to add Rafa, Octavio and all the station’s listeners to what already was an extensive gameday radio broadcast network and production.” He added that creating a Spanish language broadcast is important. “It is pivotal that we reach and engage with all of our fans, and we have a strong opportunity to do that with an important segment of our fan base by creating a Spanish radio broadcast.”
Tom Wilson, who owns Murray Hill Broadcasting, praised the Browns for their desire to reach out to Latino fans and add a Spanish language broadcast, saying the team has been “fabulous to work with.”
