The Detroit Tigers TV crew of Mario Impemba and Rod Allen were replaced for Wednesday night’s game. Katie Strang from The Athletic says it was because the two were involved in a physical altercation on Tuesday.
Multiple sources told The Athletic that neither Impemba nor Allen were part of Wednesday’s broadcast due to a physical altercation between the two television personalities following Tuesday’s game in Chicago against the White Sox. It is not immediately clear what prompted the attack.
According to Strang, the tensions between Impemba and Allen had been brewing for a long time. They have been partners since 2002, but just how long they have had a problem with one another is not known.
The fight occurred while the team was on the road in Chicago, and the duo was sent home. Matt Shepherd and Kirk Gibson called Wednesday’s game. The Tigers are off tonight. It is not known when Impemba or Allen will be back on TV for the team.
