NESN Red Sox analyst Jerry Remy has declared that he is cancer free. He made the declaration over the weekend on Twitter.
Friday was a very good day for me. Had my first scan since going through treatments. Highly successful. Cancer free for now and hopefully forever. So pleased !!!!

Remy’s battles with lung cancer date back to 2008. He missed games to receive treatments in 2008, 2013, and twice in 2017. During this last round of treatment, Jerry Remy reiterated his commitment to NESN and the Boston Red Sox, who he has worked for since 1988. He said he had no plans to retire, but recognized that he would only be able to work a part-time schedule.
His current contract calls for him to work 115 games. While Remy intends to work a reduced schedule, just how reduced remains to be seen. He and the network are expected to have a new agreement before 2019 Spring Training.
