It’s a big night for the New York Islanders as the team looks to close out a sweep of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. MSG Network will carry the game, and make a little history along the way.
Brendan Burke and Butch Goring will call the action on the ice, but the pre-game show will be the first time playoff coverage has been handled by an all-female crew.
Shannon Hogan will host the studio show. She will be joined in New York by Jennifer Botterill. AJ Mleczko will join the broadcast from the arena in Pittsburgh.
The show will also by lead by a woman behind the scenes, with Paula McHale serving as producer.
The pregame show begins at 7pm on MSG Network. The puck drops on the Islanders and the Penguins at 7:30.
