The National Association of Broadcasters announced its 2019 nominees for the Marconi Awards earlier today. Winners will be announced and trophies will be handed out at The Radio Show in Dallas in September.
Nominees for Sports Station of the year include KFAN in Minneapolis, The Sports Hub in Boston, 94 WIP in Philadelphia, The Fan in Cleveland, and the Ticket in Detroit. Entercom lead the way in the sports format with three of the five station of the year nominees.
The Sports Hub also earned a nomination for one of its shows. Felger and Massarotti were nominated for Major Market Personality of the Year. The Ticket in Dallas earned recognition in the category as well. Morning show The Musers earned a nomination.
The NAB is introducing two new Marconi Awards for 2019. They include Legendary Manager of the Year and Best Radio Station Podcast. Sports stations do not show up in either of those categories.
