Entercom’s 105.3 The Fan in Dallas announced a change to their weekday lineup, flipping their afternoon drive and midday shows. Beginning August 19th, GBag Nation with Gavin Dawson will broadcast from 2 – 7pm while Ben and Skin take over the midday from 10am – 2pm.
Currently, GBag Nation airs from 10am – 3pm, with Ben and Skin broadcasting from 3 – 7pm. For The Fan’s new lineup, the 2pm hour will be added to afternoon drive, keeping GBag Nation as a five hour show. Both shows are on board with the switch, as Ben and Skin’s producer Kevin Turner noted, the difficulty of hosting a five hour show earned GBag Nation an opportunity to have the afternoon drive spotlight.
Joining The Fan in 2010, GBag Nation’s frontman, Gavin Dawson hosts the show alongside Jeff Cavanaugh, Lucious Alexander and Mike Bacsik. “Both shows have wanted to do it for a while,” Dawson wrote on Twitter regarding The Fan’s new lineup. “But it makes more sense now than ever and all of management green lit it while we were in Oxnard. (Dallas Cowboys Training Camp)”
Ben Rogers and Jeff “Skin” Wade will move to the midday after having filled The Fan’s PM drive timeslot since 2013. The duo has been friends since 7th grade and began their radio work together in the early 2000’s. Shortly after the lineup change was announced, Ben and Skin teased a second announcement that will be revealed in the next couple of months.
They couldn’t offer details yet, but said it was a business venture they’ve been working on for over a year in conjunction with 105.3 The Fan. “We are excited about getting off at 2 because it does help us with this new business venture that we will be announcing in the fall, so stay tuned.”
