Jorge Sedano Goes Digital During Coronavirus Scare

More people are stuck in their homes than ever before right now. The coronavirus pandemic has shut down most businesses, which means it has eliminated most work commutes. Fewer people in their cars means stations have to find ways to reach listeners in their homes.

Jorge Sedano is taking his show online. He put out a Tweet today reminding listeners that his show and the entire 710 ESPN LA lineup is available on the ESPN App. He pointed out that the show is also available on streaming platforms like Twitch and YouTube.

Promoting your digital presence is imperative right now. A radio used to be easy to find in people’s homes. In August of 2019, Amy Watson published a study through Statista that said 67% of radio listeners do their home listening online.

Stations around the country are trying to be creative and find new ways into listeners’ homes while they are quarantined. Adding new platforms, including streaming video, may be the best way to preserve as much of your regular audience as possible.
