Laurence Holmes Makes Emotional Statement On Protests

The mid day host at 670 the Score in Chicago, Laurence Holmes, took a moment out of his show on Monday to discuss his feelings surrounding the calls for justice in the wake of the killing of George Floyd and the subsequent protests.

Through tears, Holmes offered a thank you to the people he saw on the streets. He acknowledged the people that marched, the people that came out to support marchers with their own signs and offering free water. He also took time to highlight the people that helped business owners clean up after some used the protests as a cover to begin looting and rioting.

“Those are the things that give me hope that we’re not too far gone,” Holmes said.

Holmes did not try to hide his anger over the police killing of another unarmed black man. He did say though that he thought it was important to pay attention to the good that is happening right now.

“I don’t want to let my rage on this subject lose sight of how good we can be when we try. And please keep helping if you can.”

Laurence Holmes has always presented ways to help to his listeners. He continued that on Monday tweeting a link to My Block My Hood My City’s Small Business relief fund. Holmes said he was humbled by any listener that clicks the links he provides and is willing to help.
