WWE Moving To Amway Center, Making Broadcast Changes

The WWE is very aware of the ratings issues it is facing during this Pandemic. That is why the company is changing its venue and shaking up its broadcast.

According to a report from Jon Alba of My News 13 in Orlando, the WWE is moving out of its performance center outside of Orlando and into the Amway Center in downtown Orlando. The arena is the regular home of the Orlando Magic. The deal runs through the end of October.

Fans could have a presence at the venue, but the WWE says only essential personnel will be in attendance. The company announced a new initiative called the WWE ThunderDome, which will put state of the art monitors around the arena to give fans a virtual experience similar to what the NBA bubble has had at Walt Disney World.

“WWE has a long history of producing the greatest live spectacles in sports and entertainment, yet nothing compares to what we are creating with WWE ThunderDome,” WWE Executive Vice President of Television Production, Kevin Dunn said in a press release. “This structure will enable us to deliver an immersive atmosphere and generate more excitement amongst the millions of fans watching our programming around the world.”

Fans can register for their digital seat at WWEThunderDome.com.

The Amway Center will be the home of all Raw, Smackdown, and pay-per-view events. The first broadcast utilizing the ThunderDome presentation will be this week’s edition of Smackdown.
