The biggest names on Fox News have helped politicize the coronavirus, according to CNN’s Senior Political Correspondent, Brianna Keilar.
“It’s like they (Fox) don’t even bother looking at the facts before they go on TV,” Keilar said during Thursday’s CNN Right Now.
Keilar used brief snippets of interviews from The Ingraham Angle to demonstrate contradictions that she said are being reported by the network on a daily basis.
Specifically, a segment with author Alex Berenson who claimed that Washington State’s Health Metrics and Evaluation virus model (IHME) continues to report false information.
“The models have been wrong, but not in the way that that guest [Berenson] claims,” Keilar said. “In March, the model projected the total number of deaths would be 81,000 and we actually lost 128,000 people.”
Keilar said the White House used and continues to use the IHME model to project cases. She also said at the current pace the United States will top 200,000 deaths by November.
“The reason that this post-November prediction is being made is because its unfalsifiable until after the election,” Berenson claimed. “Right now cases are down, hospitalizations are down, deaths are down. So the people that are trying to panic the country for six months have to point to something that they won’t be able to falsify before the election.”
Keilar said case numbers “ebb and flow” because the coronavirus is coming in waves.
