Mark Jones Joins Sacramento Kings TV Crew

ESPN’s Mark Jones is the new play-by-play man for Sacramento Kings TV broadcasts. He takes over for Grant Napear, who was dismissed from the team earlier this year.

“I am thrilled to join the Kings broadcast team. During my years of covering the league extensively, Sacramento has always stood among the top for its passionate and deeply loyal fan base,” Jones said in a press release. “I am thankful to Vivek and the organization for this incredible opportunity. My family and I are excited to move to Sacramento and become a part of the community.”

Mark Jones has 30 years of broadcasting experience. He regularly calls college football and NBA games for ABC and ESPN. He will continue in those roles. As a result, the team will be naming an alternate play-by-play voice to step in when Jones has national assignments.

“Throughout his impressive career, Mark has amassed a tremendous wealth of experience broadcasting some of the largest events this league has hosted,” Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé added. “We are excited he has chosen to continue his career in Sacramento as we look towards the bright future of this organization.”

Doug Christie will remain on the Kings’ TV broadcast. The former guard serves as the game analyst. Kings games are carried locally on NBC Sports Bay Area & NBC Sports California
