After a month of teasing his “secret project,” Kirk Minihane recently offered some information on the next podcast he’s creating for Barstool Sports.
Continuing to separate himself from the sports radio format he once thrived in, Minihane and his producer Steve Robinson are working on a true crime podcast series for Barstool. Currently in South Carolina for the investigative podcast, Minihane said the project will take him to various states including Arkansas, Texas and California as he conducts research and interviews for the series.
Beginning in January, Minihane’s daily podcast with Barstool will be trimmed to three shows per week, providing extra time to focus on the investigative series. During a recent episode of The Kirk Minihane Show, the popular host said he was originally planning to release the new project in the spring of 2021, but the timeline might be pushed up to early February.
Minihane often touts himself as a genius, so the puzzle-piecing and problem-solving opportunity creates a unique challenge for the self-proclaimed “Podcast Jesus.” He hasn’t given details on the investigation, but through the deep dive, Minihane hopes to solve the crime or at least bring a lot of attention to it.
