Today is indeed the last day the Barstool Radio would be heard on SiriusXM. Several hosts and producers from the channel have confirmed that at 4pm, Barstool is done at SiriusXM.
The final day began with Barstool Breakfast saying their final goodbyes to listeners at 9 am on Friday.
Dave Portnoy has been hinting for several month that he didn’t see much of a future for Barstool on satellite radio. The founder and president said in October that he was 99.9% sure the relationship with SiriusXM would end in January. He had dropped that certainty to 99.8% earlier this month, but it seemed there was never much of a chance of Barstool staying on beyond the current contract.
“I think we’re gonna try to do some sort of radio ourselves,” he said earlier this month on an episode of The Dave Portnoy Show with Eddie & Co. “I mean Sirius treats us like they don’t want us to be honest.”
So far the company has been mum regarding any future plans for radio. Certainly Barstool remains healthy in the digital media space and could survive as long as it wants to if the only audio it offered was podcasts.
will they go on a regular radio station be it fm or am
