NBC will be hosting a special that encourages people to receive that vaccination for the COVID-19 called “Roll Up Your Sleeves” TV special on Sunday.
TMZ reports that Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and his wife, Ciara, will host the event as the organizers hope that the two can “educate viewers, raise awareness and dispel concerns surrounding the COVID-19 vaccines.”
Wilson and Ciara won’t be alone as they’ll have guests on the even such as NBA on TNT analysts Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal will appear on the broadcast.
The rest of the appearances consist of other politicians and those in the entertainment industry. From former President Barack Obama to actor Matthew McConaughey will also make appearances throughout the broadcast.
Since the coronavirus pandemic began over a year ago, the United States has been hit with more than 30 million cases and over 560,000 deaths, per the New York Times.
Nonetheless, TMZ’s report cites the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to state that more than 66 million Americans, roughly 20-percent of the U.S. population, have received the vaccine.
