The Podboard100 Twitter page announced on Wednesday that Barstool Sports’ top-rated podcast; Pardon My Take, is the number one ranked sports podcast for the month of August in the United States.
The Pardon My Take crew earned the number one overall ranking by dominating the PodBoard100 charts during their 2021 Grit Week Special. The podcast remained within the top five across all genres for the past ten days.
I reached out to the official Podboard100 Twitter account in a private message to learn how they come up with their rankings.
“We take download and streaming data from multiple podcast players like iTunes, Google podcasts, Spotify, etc,” the account told me. “We also have an algorithm which trawls Twitter, Instagram, TikTok for #’s and @’s related to the show, (and) how many people are sharing the show”.
Considering the fact that Pardon My Take co-hosts Big Cat and PFTCommenter pulled off being the number one sports podcast in the USA right before football season makes the ranking even more impressive.
