Sports fans in Greenville, SC have FOX sports back on their radio dials. The network now calls 104.9 home. iHeartMedia’s Greenville/Asheville cluster announced the move on Friday with the flip coming on Monday
The frequency was home to a classic rock station focused on music from the 80s and 90s. Now, it carries the full network lineup.
FOX Sports Upstate has some local flavor. The station will be the local affiliate of the South Carolina Gamecocks. It will also carry Sportstalk with Phil Kornblut, which is syndicated across the state.
“We’re excited to bring back the FOX Sports Radio brand to the Upstate,” Brian Hall, iHeartMedia Asheville/Greenville’s SVP of Programming, said in a press release. “Our listeners will have access to the best names in sports talk, plus regional coverage. It’s also a natural pairing with the South Carolina Gamecocks. Game On, Upstate!”
FOX Sports Radio was last heard in the market on 1440 AM. The format changed in June 2020 when iHeartMedia launched the Black Information Network.
