A slew of new shows are coming to Meadowlark Media. Some include talent new to the company. Others feature personalities long-established within the Le Batard & Friends universe.
Meadowlark Media has announced the addition of 5 new podcasts to its roster. They include Fullcast After Dark, a college football recap show that originates on Twitter spaces every Saturday night before being distributed as a podcast, Montgomery & Co., a show featuring former WNBA player and owner of the league’s Atlanta Dream Renee Montgomery, and Off the Looking Glass, a news magazine featuring Kate Fagan with appearances from Jessica Smetana.
There are also two as-yet-unnamed shows on the way. One will feature Grant Wahl, who in addition to this new show is also bringing his Fútbol with Grant Wahl podcast to Meadowlark. He will team with Chris Wittyngham and one of the greatest American soccer players ever, Landon Donovan, for a show focused on the USMNT’s attempt to qualify for the 2022 World Cup. The other new show will feature Dan Le Batard and Heisman Trophy winner Ricky Williams.
“We’re always searching for people who have a unique point of view and a commitment to quality content,” CEO John Skipper said. “There are many ways to tell a story in sports and we believe that the podcasts we’re announcing today showcase the breadth of the Meadowlark offering.”
Skipper was clear about the company’s intentions in a recent interview with Bloomberg. Podcasts are a growing space and inexpensive to produce. The real goal for the company though is to become a player in video content.
