News Media Reacts to Andy Cohen’s NYE Rant on Bill de Blasio

Last Friday, everyone was ringing in 2022 and saying goodbye to 2021. CNN, like many networks, provided New Year’s Eve coverage, but their broadcast turned into slander towards the outgoing New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Andy Cohen was alongside anchor Anderson Cooper when he decided to take a shot and go on his rant calling de Blasio a “horrible mayor.” Nonetheless, the whole incident caused a stir among those in the news media world.

ABC News’ Matt Bevan had a cheeky response to their competitor’s incident and wondered why other networks don’t have their host drink on their New Year’s Eve coverage to see what occurs.

RT en Español’s Helena Villar found some humor in the incident as well with remarks, which are translated.

“CNN presenter of the New Year’s Eve special with a terrible taste for dressing up drunk. He was not the only one and maybe not even the worst,” Villar tweeted.

Meanwhile, Jessica O’Donnell of The Blaze kept her thoughts short and to the point regarding Cohen’s rant at Times Square.

Washington Post columnist Karen Attiah was another media member that found humor in the entire incident on CNN.

MSNBC’s Hayes Brown wondered whether Cohen was ready to get into a physical altercation with the outgoing New York City Mayor.

NBC News correspondent Tom Winter also had some fun stating that Cohen was the last person to place his complaint toward de Blasio in 2021 before the year turned to 2022.

Finally, Cohen went on Twitter the following day to acknowledge his rant and admitted he might have had a bit too much to drink.
