The Covid-19 surge in the United States affects some late-night shows. First, Jimmy Fallon announced he contracted Covid during their holiday break, and now “Late Night” host Seth Meyers has also tested positive.
Meyers went on Twitter to share that he has tested positive for the virus and, as a result, NBC’s late-night show will be canceled for the remainder of the week.
“The bad news is, I tested positive for COVID (thanks, 2022!) the good news is, I feel fine (thanks vaccines and booster!),” Myers tweeted.
“We are canceling the rest of the shows this week, so tune in next Monday to see what cool location we will try and pass off as a studio!!!”
“Late Night” did have a show on Monday night as they returned from their holiday hiatus with Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, and Justin Hartley and musical guest David Byrne appearing as guest.
Myers also joked that the audience should tune in on Monday “to see what cool location we will try and pass off as a studio.”
New York, where the show tapes out of, is undergoing a surge in cases, infiltrating late-night shows and daytime talk shows like “The View,” which has gone remote and has seen their co-host Whoopi Goldberg contract the virus too.
