This week, Amber Athey lost her gig at WMAL after she made a joke on Twitter about Vice President Kamala Harris’ brown suit, referring to it as a UPS uniform. The former morning co-host has been speaking to various programs as to what occurred.
Athey appeared on “The Dan Bongino Show,” where she detailed what happened to lead to her firing, but during the interview, host Dan Bongino decided to offer a bi-weekly segment on his program.
“We’re on Cumulus airwaves now, and you know me with my fight, my ongoing fight with Cumulus. So I’m going to do this, Jim let’s offer Amber; let’s do a regular segment. So when you can do it, Amber, so we’re going to be reaching out to you,” Bongino said.
“What would we do like biweekly, Jim, does that work for you, Amber? You want to do a biweekly segment? This is what cancer this is and how we fight back against cancel culture. We make you un cancellable because WMAL is one station we’re on, 350 including that, so you’ll be back on WMAL.”
She was more than enthusiastic about taking Bongino on the opportunity to appear on his show on a bi-weekly basis.
“That sounds fantastic, Dan, and I very much appreciate that. You don’t have to; I appreciate it. This reminds me of that commercial at the four-way stop sign they have,” Athey said. “I appreciate that you don’t have to do that because you know that I believe in you. I always have.”
No further details as to which days Athey will appear, but her voice is going to remain on the air in different stations heading forward with this new opportunity.
