President Joe Biden on Inflation: “We Brought Down the Deficit”

Date:

According to Mediate, President Joe Biden was pressed by CNN on the record-high inflation plaguing Americans during a news conference on Tuesday. Biden was attempting to outline his plans to deal with the issue when he encountered White House correspondent Jeremy Diamond.

“Why do you believe so many Americans believe that your administration is not doing enough to combat inflation?” Diamond asked before encountering the president’s typical talking points on the issue.

“The vast majority of Americans are hoping that their government just takes care of the problem, and they don’t have to think about it in detail, at the kitchen table, at the dinner table. And that’s understandable no matter what their background,” the president said.

Biden said he believes his administration has done its best to establish policies that helped have American families during this time period. “We brought down the deficit. The bottom line is, how much does America owe? How much in the hole are we going? We’re reducing that.” He added.
