Jason Chaffetz Slams Users Voting Out Elon Musk as CEO of Twitter

Elon Musk stated that he plans to step aside as Twitter CEO as soon as he finds “someone foolish enough to take the job.” However, Fox News contributor Jason Chaffetz believes it’s a bad idea to see Musk leave as head of the platform.

Musk ran a poll last weekend asking users whether he should “step down as head of Twitter,” leading to the majority voting 57.5 percent voting yes and the minority voting 42.5 percent no.

Nonetheless, Chaffetz doesn’t want the Tesla CEO to honor that poll.

“Who are the 57 percent that want to fire the best CEO this country may have ever developed!?” Chaffetz told Jessica Tarlov and Dana Perino Wednesday (h/t Mediaite).

“The guy builds rockets better than NASA! He builds the most viable electric car. Oh yeah, he also started PayPal, and he’s got an artificial intelligence company that is second to none. And some people think ‘Oh, I wouldn’t want him to run my company.’ Are you stupid? C’mon!”

Furthermore, the Fox News contributor notes that there’s no other person he wants running the social media company.

“This is the guy you want him running your companies,” Chaffetz said. “As long as he will help control the heartbeat of Twitter in that software development, then I think the world will be a better place. He is about openness, transparency and free speech. What else do you want from the guy?”
