Bill O’Reilly: ‘Fox News Haters See Chance To Destroy It Once & For All’

The attorney representing the individual at the heart of the January 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol has reportedly requested that Fox News host Tucker Carlson, withdraw his “false and defamatory” comments about their client and issue a “formal on-air apology” for the falsehoods he propagated. The attorney for Ray Epps claims that Carlson spread “lies” about him.

Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly joined The Glenn Beck Show Friday to discuss what he sees as the various ongoing attempts to bury the network in the wake of a massive defamation lawsuit against it.

“The story is interesting because this is the beginning of the assault in the court system against Fox,” said O’Reilly. “It happened six years ago, and now it’s happening all over again for different reasons, so you’re going to see more of this.”

The New York Times reported in 2017 that Bill O’Reilly, then the host of one of the network’s most popular primetime shows, and his employer paid around $13 million to five women to settle allegations of sexual harassment and other misconduct.

“I would be surprised if any Fox News attorney were telling Carlson to apologize to Ray Epps,” said O’Reilly. “They (attorneys) do this for free, and other entities pay them. When I had to defend myself, I knew big boys were behind these accusations. For example, Color of Change, a George Soros organization, came after me. That’s the game here, and of course, the corporate media will never report on that.”

Pundits have questioned Ray Epps’ role in the January 6 riots after he was caught on tape at the U.S. Capitol in a MAGA hat inciting the crowd.

“The Fox News haters see it as an opportunity to destroy that business once and for all,” said O’Reilly. “If you look at the Rules for Radicals, it keeps the pressure on. I don’t know who Ray Epps, I know what he did, but I don’t know him; they’re telling him, look, if you cooperate with us, we will do this for you, whatever that may be. You’ll see more of this hoping that Fox News collapses.”
