The sports journalism world was shocked on Monday when news broke that the New York Times will be disbanding its sports department.
The paper plans to transition all the employees who were with the newspaper’s sports department to positions at The Athletic, which the New York Times Company purchased last year for $550 million.
Several all across sports media offered their reactions to the news.
