Jesse Watters: ‘There’d Be a Revolution’ if Fox News Was Taken Off TV

Date:

As both the writers’ strike and the actors’ strike continue in Hollywood, television primetime lineups are continuing to alter their fall plans. Fox News host Jesse Watters believes there are only two invincible properties left in the television world, and he works for one of them.

During The Five earlier this week, a discussion about the strikes and the lack of late-night television programs took place, with Watters declaring there would be massive issues in America if Fox News was somehow taken off cable television plans.

“There’s only two items that if you took it off TV, there’d be a revolution in this country: Football and Fox News,” said Watters. “You can take anything else off, television, cable, or broadcast, and the country stays the same. If you remove college and pro football and this channel, this country would not tolerate it.”

Watters said “The King of Late Night”, Greg Gutfeld, “buried” the network programs, leading prominent late-night hosts to put together a podcast. He added that the COVID-19 pandemic put into perspective who truly is and isn’t an “essential worker” and it’s clear hosts like Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jimmy Fallon aren’t essential to everyday Americans.
