CBS delivered its viewership totals for the 2023 NFL season and, like many other broadcasters this year, it hit record highs. This season’s viewership was CBS’ highest since the NFL returned to the network in 1998.
The network’s 2023 slate averaged 19.345 million viewers, a five percent increase from last year. The 4:25 p.m. ET national game window averaged 24.637 million viewers for its 10 games, the most among any sports, entertainment, or news program series on any network, including FOX.
The Thanksgiving Day game between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders averaged 41.762 million viewers, which makes it the second-most-watched regular season game in NFL history. CBS also boasts the fourth and fifth-most-watched games of the season, with the Nov. 26 matchup between the Bills and Eagles (30.903 million viewers) and the Christmas Day matchup between the Raiders and Chiefs (29.477 million viewers).
CBS’ streaming service, Paramount+, can also boast some major victories this season. Paramount+ scored its most-steamed NFL regular season ever and recorded double-digit year-over-year growth in households, minutes, and Average Minute Audience (AMA).
