Clay Travis and Buck Sexton took over the 12-3 PM ET timeslot previously held by Rush Limbaugh upon his death in 2021. And they have shared many of the same employees with the radio giant, too.
While discussing the staff turnover of Washington D.C. politicians — namely new Democratic front-runner Kamala Harris, Travis and Sexton argued that if you’re a good person to work for and with, your employees will remain loyal. They pointed to their staff of The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show as a case in point.
“Just from what we see in media, when somebody is constantly having to fire the people that work with them or around them, it is unlikely that every single person you hire is a disaster. And if it is that case, then that’s on you,” said Travis. “How many people have quit Clay & Buck in the three years that we’ve been on the show? How many have we lost?
“I think every single person has stayed on. Maybe one or two have left for bigger, better jobs. I’m trying to think through right now. For Rush, many of the staff that’s with us now were also with Rush. This is a high-stress, high-intensity job. I’m saying this on Rush’s behalf, too, but also ours: if you’re an awful person to work for, people want to dive out of working for you because there’s lots of other jobs to get.”
The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show debuted in June of 2021, which replaced The Rush Limbaugh Show on more than 500 stations across the country.
