HEARTBROKEN BELOVED VETERAN PHILLY RADIO & TV BROADCASTER BOB CHARGER HAS PASSED
We received the sad news late last evening.
As many of you know, Bob was a dear friend. He was the consummate professional who enjoyed a decades-long career in the Philly Metro Region and beyond. More importantly, Bob brought character and integrity to his industry—not always a given. He was a gentleman and a man of faith.
Bob emceed several Charlie Gracie shows through the years. He also hosted the Charlie Gracie Memorial Tribute held by the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia in 2003.
Bob also appeared with his stellar radio compadre, Harvey Holiday (WOGL-FM 98) at Charlie’s huge public life celebration at the Media Theater last summer. His wealth of knowledge related to pop music and the story behind the hits…and misses was staggering!
Thank you, Bob! We will miss you. Well done, good and faithful servant! We pray your soul is now in the company of our beloved father.
Our love, prayers, and deepest condolences to Bob’s family.
Charger began his broadcast career as a teenager at 1580 WNJH Hammonton, NJ. Charger worked for 20 years on-air at WOGL/Philadelphia in various capacities.
