CNN Adds Marybel Gonzalez as Los Angeles Based Correspondent

CNN has announced it is adding Marybel Gonzalez to its stable of foreign language correspondents at CNN Newsource.

Gonzalez, who will be based in Los Angeles, comes to CNN from CBS News Chicago where she focused mainly on the immigration crisis at the U.S. southern border.

Her coverage of the issue — namely the story of a chartered bus from Texas bringing migrants to the Windy City — helped earn the station an Edward R. Murrow Award.

A national Gracie Award recipient, Gonzalez previously worked at Telemundo. She also served as a weekend anchor and investigative reporter for the Sinclair Broadcast Group in Texas and an investigative reporter at PBS in Denver.

Gonzalez is a 2016 graduate of Columbia University.
