Country radio personality Granger Smith recently broadcast live from Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina, offering updates on the ongoing relief efforts following Hurricane Helene’s damage. He urged listeners to contribute through donations and volunteer efforts to support those affected.
Smith, the host of Premiere Networks-syndicated shows “After MidNite with Granger Smith” and “Mornings with Granger” for iHeartCountry, has partnered with HopeFound.org through the River Kelly Fund to provide vital supplies to communities affected by Hurricane Helene.
On October 14, a semi-truck loaded with resources arrived in Knoxville, TN. The supplies were then distributed across ten 4×4 trucks, enabling access to remote areas severely impacted by flooding.
Clay Travis, another Premiere Networks personality, recently visited Asheville to assess the significant damage in the area. He conducted a helicopter tour to gain a firsthand view and is focused on raising awareness, funds, and volunteer support for ongoing relief efforts.
He co-hosted “The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show” live from News Radio 570 WWNC-AM, a program affiliate.
During the broadcast, WWNC Host and News Director Mark Starling discussed the hurricane’s significant impact on the community. He outlined the vital role the station played in providing coverage during the crisis.
WWNC and Starling were featured on the CBS Evening News, recognizing their coverage of Helene’s aftermath.

Starling said, “When TV couldn’t do it, the newspaper couldn’t do it, there was nothing online, the only thing left was AM/FM radio. What we wanted to do here at the radio station was show the community that we can get through this. And we’ve been kind of repeating this line: ‘Community is the answer to this crisis.’”
