Bob Lawrence, who announced last week that he was leaving his position as Market Manager at 7 Mountains Media in Parkersburg, WV (BMM 5/12), has revealed his new position.
Lawrence, also a columnist for Barrett Media, will return to Michigan as Market Manager for MacDonald Broadcasting in Saginaw.
“I am so excited to announce that Risea and I are headed back to Michigan as I join MacDonald Broadcasting Saginaw as market manager of that amazing cluster of local radio and digital properties. This includes flagship Country 98.1 WKCQ “KCQ”, Adult Hits 97.3 WMJO “Joe FM”, Mainstream AC 92.3/104.1/1400AM WSAM WSAG “The Bay, said Lawrence.
Lawrence added, “I first met owner Kenneth ‘Mac’ MacDonald Jr. during my five-plus years in Detroit at Saga Communications. His forward-thinking reputation and family-owned company truly excite me. With his daughter Mackenzie, also part of the already strong leadership team, MBC is now a 3rd generation local broadcast company committed to quality, compelling content in Saginaw and Lansing. I am truly ecstatic and more than grateful to Mac, Mackenzie and Cindy Tuck for this wonderful opportunity! I’ll be on the job starting June 2nd.”
His 40-year career included time on air in Philadelphia, San Diego, and San Francisco. He also programmed KHTR St. Louis, KITS Hot Hits and KIOI (K101) San Francisco.
Lawrence joined Seven Mountains in May 2024, arriving from the Radio Advertising Bureau’s National Radio Talent System, where he served as General Manager. Lawrence also spent five years as Corporate Vice President of Programming/Content for Saga Communications.
