CBS Sports Elevates Colt Knost To Full-Time Golf Analyst Alongside Jim Nantz

"Colt has become a valued voice on our team, bringing insight, energy, and his engaging personality to every broadcast"

CBS Sports is making a significant change to its golf broadcast booth ahead of the 2026 PGA TOUR season. Longtime on-course reporter Colt Knost has been promoted to a full-time analyst role, moving into the network’s Super Tower alongside host Jim Nantz, lead analyst Trevor Immelman and veteran commentator Frank Nobilo.

Knost, a former Tour pro who transitioned to broadcasting after his playing career, first joined CBS Sports on a part-time basis in 2019.

He became a full-time member of the crew in 2021. He quickly earned a reputation for strong player relationships, on-course feel, and a conversational style. His steady rise within the network now reaches a peak. The Super Tower assignment marks his most prominent role to date.

Harold Bryant, CBS Sports’ executive producer and executive vice president of production, said the move reflects both Knost’s growing influence and his chemistry with the rest of the broadcast team.

“Colt has become a valued voice on our team, bringing insight, energy, and his engaging personality to every broadcast,” Bryant said. “Elevating him alongside Jim, Trevor, and Frank in our Super Tower is a natural next step that reflects the trust and respect he’s earned.”

While Knost shifts roles, the remainder of the network’s core crew will stay largely intact. Dottie Pepper will return as CBS’ lead on-course reporter, a position she has held with distinction as one of golf media’s most authoritative voices.

She will once again be joined by Mark Immelman. He continues to handle on-course coverage. Amanda Balionis remains the network’s primary interviewer.

The 2026 PGA TOUR season will once again feature a heavy CBS presence. The network begins its coverage January 31–February 1 at Torrey Pines for the Farmers Insurance Open. It will air on the CBS Television Network and stream live on Paramount+.

CBS will also carry the decisive stages of the FedExCup Playoffs. The network will broadcast the third and final rounds of all three postseason tournaments in August.

The stretch ends with the TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. The FedExCup champion will be crowned there. Anchoring the golf calendar, the Super Tower team, now featuring Knost, will play a central role in this major event.

For CBS, the elevation of Knost represents both continuity and evolution. The network has leaned on familiar voices like Nantz and Nobilo for decades while gradually integrating new talent. Knost’s expanded duties signal CBS’ continued commitment to modernizing its coverage. The network aims to appeal to a younger, more digitally savvy audience. This is done without disrupting the broadcast’s traditional foundation.

Earlier this year, Ian Baker-Finch announced that after more than three decades covering professional golf, he is stepping away from the broadcast booth at CBS Sports. The longtime CBS Sports golf analyst retired from broadcasting, capping a 30-year run in the industry, including the last 19 years with CBS Sports.
