In a post on social media, Bartholomew shared that he was told on Wednesday that his program was ending.

“After almost 4 years, and raising the ratings over 300% in some areas, I was informed that I was leaving my job to pursue other opportunities,” Batholomew wrote. “I didn’t even know I was looking at other opportunities. I wanted to ask them what they were, but they got off the phone before I could. (Yes. They did it over the phone.”

The Casey Bartholomew Show aired from 9-11 AM. WBAP has not announced plans for the daypart following Bartholomew’s exit. Afternoon host James Parker handled the two-hour block after Barthlomew’s departure. Casey Bartholomew took over the timeslot that was previously occupied by Ernie Brown. 1. Hey Casey. After doing some research to see why you weren’t doing your show and James filling in I thought you might be sick. But I’m really bummed because I really enjoyed your show, your wit, sarcasm and your take on things. Dealing with current issues that affect us all. You’ll be missed my friend bc thru radio the host becomes like a friend. Good luck on whatever you’re doing. I guess this is why you’ve had to move around so much in your career. Situations like this.

    • Such an unprofessional move by WBAP – Childlike move by the station (over the phone) and they made a big mistake IMO. Back listening to the Ticket 1310

  2. Thank you. Never felt Casey was a good fit. I find it hard to believe ratings rose at all during his tenure. He was too brash with callers who did not share his exact opinions. When calling in on a very touchy topic I was personally familiar with I was abruptly cut off because he did not agree. I was not giving an opinion I was giving situational truths on school districts who facilitate a year round system. There are ways to handle callers who have differing opinions. He did not diplomatically converse with callers of differing opinions. I’m not surprised he has had to move around so much. I feel bad for his family. Maybe he should take heed and look inward and maybe stick to stations that are more open to “shock jock’ opinions or attitudes.

    • That abrasive style sounds like what he is known for. It works for him. You seem to not care for him because he cut you off. You either didn’t jive with his points he was going to make or the timing of your call was not good. You have to really control content to focus your audience in the right direction for the points/direction of the show you have planned. Otherwise it blows up on you are you lose the topic.

As for ratings, have you seen the Nielsens? The breakdowns by demo and such.

  3. He sucked and his show sucked. That’s why he got removed. There’s a reason he has moved around so much.over the years. Quite frankly, I am shocked he lasted 4 years. His show had poor content and his condecending and belittling attitude towards most of his callers was old and tiresome. Good riddance.

    • Not true at all. I’m in the business. You get moved all over the country, usually every 2 to 4 years. Few in the industry ge to work just one market and typically they are unemployed long stretches of time if for nothing else, the non-compete agreement.

  4. They keep pushing me more to KLIF, but since the money ends up in the same pocket, they probably dont care. Casey, I’ve enjoyed your show. Let me know where you end up. Best of luck to you.

  5. Wow. So disappointed that WBAP decided that Casey was “not what the station needed”. I luv Casey, his sense of humor and style!!! and even more frustrating is that James show is filling the air space! WTH

I will be searching for Casey…..

  6. Loved your show. You will be missed on WBAP. I’ll search to find where your next endeavor will be. The day is not the same without hearing your show. Wish you the best!!

  7. I loved his show. I’m retired and made a point of running errands and such during his time frame is I could listen. Trash move by WBAP especially the way that did it. Hope to find you on another station in the near future.

  8. I listen to 93.3 in the car unless there is a Stars game on. I usually was in the car during the 9-11am hour and sometimes the show was good and sometimes I felt like I was back in NY listening to Mike Fransesca condescendingly talk down to callers he thought weren’t savvy enough to talk about certain content. I’m guessing that the 11-2 show was going to be a wait and see since Vince, who I love, was let go. I admit I laugh the entire time with Markley Van Camp and Lewis. I mean laugh out funny because I feel the same way about the ridiculousness Democrats spew out daily on TV and get away with. Since Bongino is coming back to podcast, I like James Parker in the 9-11 hour and put Dan on at 2. I whole heartedly disagree with Parker’s stance on Mass Transit, but his show is balanced and I know every song is his games. His tribute to R&B last week was awesome.
