Cox Adult R&B WALR Kiss 104.1 in Atlanta is making moves. The station confirmed changes after APD and midday host Dyron Ducati Walker exited following seven years with the outlet.
What We Know: Ducati joined WALR in April 2019 and earned a promotion to APD in August 2024. His career launched in 2004 at Hip Hop Q93 WQUE New Orleans before he relocated to Atlanta in 2009. He also hosted weekends and fill-ins at Rhythmic CHR Wild 105.7 during his time in the market. Following his exit, afternoon host Monie Love shifts to middays, while weekend host Ramona DeBreaux steps into afternoons.
What’s at Stake: WALR is leaning on internal talent rather than pursuing an outside hire. Love brings major-market midday experience from WTLC-FM Indianapolis and both WRNB and WPHI in Philadelphia. DeBreaux, additionally, spent fifteen years at Audacy’s V103 WVEE and twelve years at Hot 107.9 WHTA. Both moves reflect strong confidence in the station’s existing roster.
What Remains Unclear: The station has not revealed who will handle Ducati’s APD responsibilities going forward. It also remains unknown how WALR will cover weekends following DeBreaux’s departure from that slot. Additionally, no word has surfaced on whether an external hire could still enter the picture. No timeline for any of these decisions has been made public.
What It Means: Cox is prioritizing stability over disruption at a key Adult R&B outlet. Promoting DeBreaux and shifting Love signals a low-risk, continuity-first approach. Furthermore, both women arrive in their new roles with deep major-market experience. For WALR, that combination of familiarity and track record is a strong foundation moving forward.
