Devils Add Daneyko To Broadcast

It’s official. Ken Daneyko will succeed Glenn (Chico) Resch as the Devils’ TV analyst alongside play-by-play man Steve Cangialosi this season.

MSG Networks announced Wednesday that they will telecast 80 of the 82 Devils regular season games, plus three of the team’s preseason games during the 2014-15 NHL season. A complete schedule is included below.

MSG Networks’ Devils game telecasts start Monday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. when the team visits the Rangers in a preseason matchup on MSG+. The regular season schedule gets under way on Thursday, October 9 as the Devils travel to Philadelphia to face the Flyers at 7:00 p.m. on MSG+.

Daneyko had been an in-studio analyst position for the past eight seasons. Nicknamed “Mr. Devil,” Daneyko played his entire career in New Jersey where he won three Stanley Cups. He set a franchise record with 1,283 regular season games played and played in 175 playoff games second to Martin Brodeur. The Devils retired Daneyko’s No. 3 in 2006.

“I look forward to sharing my knowledge and passion of hockey with the Devils viewers, and to use my on-ice and locker room experiences to explain why certain things happen as they do during games,” Daneyko said. “I know I have big shoes to fill replacing a great friend and broadcaster in Chico Resch, but I am confident the viewers will appreciate my analysis and candor. I can’t wait to get started.”

Cangialosi and Deb Placey both return to the Devils broadcast team for their fourth seasons as play-by-play announcer, and host and reporter respectively.
