9 Radio was born from the ashes of Radio X, who could not obtain interesting market share for Montrealers. They remained cautious towards the 91.9 FM: winter on average 123,000 listeners have listened to Radio 9, down from its entry into waves in the fall. In comparison, 98.5 FM and Ici Radio-Canada Première obtained averages respectively 1,345,000 and 596,000 listeners.
