The Beast 980 Adds “Meyers & Wes” To Middays

Veteran sports personalities Chris Myers and Wes Clements will host the new “Myers & Wes” show to air weekdays from noon – 3pm beginning on Tuesday, December 1 on The Beast 980.

The new program rounds out The Beast 980’s revamped all-sports primetime lineup which includes Bill Plaschke and Jeanne Zelasko, 6-9am; Jim Rome, 9am-12pm; and Fred Roggin, 3-6pm. All of the programs are broadcast live from the Los Angeles area.

Myers is a 30-year sports broadcasting veteran who has covered premiere events, including the Super Bowl, World Series, NBA Finals, NCAA Final Four, The Masters and U.S. Open (golf), Triple Crown, the Olympics and the Daytona 500. Myers has worked for Fox Sports Net, FoxSportsOne, where he launched MLB Whiparound, and ESPN, where he anchored Sports Center, Baseball Tonight and Up-Close. An Emmy award winner, Myers also is an NFL on Fox play-by-play announcer.

Clements, who has worked as a baseball analyst for ESPN, is a Southern California native. He attended Hawthorne High School and El Camino Junior College before moving on to the University of Arizona on a baseball scholarship. He was a national champion, a Sporting News All-American, an Academic All-American and is a member of the university’s Hall of Fame. Clements was drafted by the Chicago Cubs and Houston Astros and played, coached and managed for several teams in the U.S. and Mexico.

“Adding Chris and Wes to our daily lineup further underscores our goal to be the only radio station super serving L.A. sports fans,” said Beast 980 program director Tom Lee. “Throughout the day sports fans now get an unprecedented dose of local coverage from the top sports talent here in L.A.”
