John E. Hoover has spent thirty years of his life working in the newspaper business. The past twenty four of those years were spent at the Tulsa World where he became a highly respected sports columnist, earning honors as the National Beat Writer of the Year by the Associated Press Sports Editors in 2011.
But now Hoover is taking on a new challenge, developing his own multi-media brand, following the lead of numerous sports columnists and reporters across the country who have migrated from print to sports talk radio.
He announced today on Twitter that he’ll be joining The Franchise in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, which is owned and operated by Tyler Media. Hoover will write for the radio group’s websites, and co-host a midday show with Program Director Lauren Rew weekdays from 12p-3p. The show will be broadcast in Tulsa on 107.9FM and 1270AM.
