According to Tony Paul of the Detroit News, a shakeup is taking place at Detroit Sports 105.1. The afternoon duo of Matt Dery and Drew Sharp have been let go, and starting this Monday they’ll be replaced by former Piston Lindsey Hunter and Program Director Dave Shore. Here’s the tweet that was sent out a little while ago.
If Paul’s information is accurate (and it usually is), this would mean 105.1 is blowing up the afternoon show pairing of Dery and Sharp after only 4 and a half months. They were installed in the timeslot when former afternoon personality Drew Lane and the radio station couldn’t come to terms on a new contract. Dery had previously hosted middays on the radio station.
Additionally, Paul is reporting that Rob Pascoe, who did updates and often served as an extra host, will also not be back.
Shore has yet to confirm the news but says that an announcement will be made on Monday. The radio station’s website no longer has Dery and Sharp listed on their programming schedule.
