WDAE in Tampa has hired Len Martez as the station’s new part time host/reporter. He brings over a decade’s worth of experience working in multiple markets including Miami, FL, Charlotte, NC, Washington D.C and Blacksburg, VA. He joins the radio station after spending the past few years on the west coast in San Diego.
During his previous stops, Martez has grown from being a board operator to reporter, fill in host, full time host, sports director and pre/post game host for Virginia Tech football and the Carolina Panthers.
According to WDAE, Len’s wide range of skills made him an attractive candidate, and his immediate focus will be to host the Inside Pitch and Extra Innings shows during the baseball season. Martez will join a rotation that includes Steve Carney and Jay Recher.
Martez said ““I can’t wait for the opportunity to join the WDAE team & serve a market that cares so much about its baseball, football & hockey teams. I’ve spent the last two years on the west coast, and got my “east coast” sports fix by listening to WDAE on IHeartRadio. I’m looking to contribute anyway I can to make sure when someone wants their “Tampa sports fix” they turn to WDAE.”
