UPCOMING EVENTS

KNBR Adds Jeremiah Crowe To Programming Team

KNBR in San Francisco is stocking up on talented people. Last week, the radio station convinced John Lund to leave 95.7 The Game, and join Tom Tolbert in afternoon drive. Now, the sports leader has added a rising programmer to help contribute to the growth of its two AM brands.

Jeremiah Crowe has joined Cumulus San Francisco as Program Director of KNBR 1050, and Assistant Program Director of KNBR 680. He’ll work alongside KNBR 680 Program Director Lee Hammer.

Crowe, spent eight years at ESPN Radio in Bristol, CT working on every top show from Mike and Mike, to Colin Cowherd, to Doug Gottlieb, and GameNight. He left the network in June 2011 for the Bay Area where he played an integral role in helping build and develop KNBR’s rival 95.7 The Game.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to be joining two heritage stations like KNBR & KTCT, who have both been a part of the fabric of the Bay Area sports scene for decades,” said Crowe. “There’s great potential to turn 1050AM into a major player within the market as we explore all options both here in the Bay Area and on a national scale. I’m looking forward to serving local fans and presenting them with a fresh perspective on the teams they love so much.”

During his four years at The Game, Crowe grew from Executive Producer to Assistant Program Director. He decided to leave the radio station and pursue a new opportunity working with Twitter when Program Director Jason Barrett departed in June 2015. Although his exit from the radio business provided its fair share of benefits, he couldn’t get rid of the radio bug.

When Cumulus SVP of Sports Bruce Gilbert (Crowe’s former ESPN Radio boss) reached out to get a read on where Crowe saw his future, it energized him. Soon thereafter, meetings and conversations took place with KNBR programming boss Lee Hammer, and Cumulus San Francisco Market Manager Justin Wittmayer. Once the vision was laid out for how he’d contribute to the programming team, it was only a matter of time before he was ready to join the party.

Crowe’s first day on the job is expected to be May 16th. He’ll be tasked with developing original programming for 1050, and helping provide programming support to Hammer, and KNBR 680’s key weekday programs.
