Matt Mosley and Mark Friedman Exit ESPN Dallas 103.3

After 10 years, Matt Mosley’s time at ESPN Dallas 103.3 has come to an end. The talented afternoon host who partnered with SportsDay columnist and ESPN contributor Tim Cowlishaw for the past three years, and who worked with Randy Galloway prior to his retirement, was not on the air Friday, and confirmed via social media that his time with the radio station had expired.

According to a report in the Dallas News, Mosley was working on a one year deal. His agreement was set to expire in October. The two sides had talked about continuing the relationship but were not able to come to terms. Mosley’s partner, Cowlishaw, has one year left on his deal and will have to adjust to working with a new on-air partner.

Although Mosley and Cowlishaw were third in the ratings behind The Hardline (Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket) and Ben & Skin (105.3 The Fan), they outperformed their lead-in (Dennis & Friedo). When reached for comment, Mosley said plans are in the works for him to return to the Dallas-Fort Worth radio airwaves in the future. He’ll make an announcement at the appropriate time.

In addition to Mosley departing, so too is midday host Mark Friedman. Friedman teamed with Steve Dennis in middays, and the local speculation is that Dennis will move up from the midday program to partner with Cowlishaw, and the midday show will be turned over to Jean-Jacques Taylor and Will Chambers. Taylor has already confirmed on Facebook that he will host the midday show.
